Wrapping Up the Weekend

Hi, guys! Happy MONDAY to you!

If you’re just catching up, I went all journal-style with CNC over the weekend – just like old times! I can’t believe I used to blog 3 times a day, everyday, for years. Holy cow, that was a lot of blogging! I actually forgot how much I enjoy sharing my life this way on CNC, so it might be here to stay for awhile! Anyway, here’s what happened over the weekend:

Sunday morning started bright and early with a tiny human in our bed. Apparently, the OK to Wake! Clock is really “broken.” Oy. Qman used to stay in bed until his alarm went off at 7:00 AM, but now it’s a total crapshoot when we all begin our day. Mal and I stayed up late watching 13 Reasons Why, so we were especially tired this morning.

We planned to have pancakes for breakfast, so Mal got to work on his amazing, cake-like recipe.

After breakfast, Mal took the trash to the dump while Qman and I did some painting and art projects. Please note the paint on the back of his head – no idea how that happened. Haha!

When Mal returned home, we headed to the farmer’s market at Southfield Union Point. It was our first time there, and we were pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t huge, but there were a lot of great vendors and live music.

While there, we also discovered a dog park. Woohoo! There is even a spot for small dogs to run around totally separate from big dogs. We’ll definitely take Murphy the next time we go!

There was a playground right next to the farmer’s market, Qman spent awhile running around and playing before we went home.

We also got some Cheddar Pepperoni Cheese Spread and salted caramel kettlecorn. We tried samples of both at the farmer’s market and just had to buy some to take home!

Quinn was exhausted, so we kept things simple and whizzed through lunch, so he could get down for his nap. My lunch was ground chicken with sweet potato ribbons, green beans, and buffalo sauce.

After lunch, Quinn took a nap, so I broke out my laptop to get to work. I was kind of bummed to be working on such a beautiful day but at least I had an adorable furry friend to keep me company.


A couple of hours later, I snacked on some Seed-tastic Overnight Chia-Flax Pudding, but, this time, I added  fresh blueberries and 1/2 scoop of vanilla SFH protein powder, which was definitely the thing to do. It was so darn delicious! I think I finally nailed down the winning combo! 🙂

Shortly after that, Qman woke up from his nap. I spent most of the afternoon sitting on my butt (Murphy, too), so suggested a family walk so we could all get a little exercise.


When Murphy and I got back from our walk, Quinn was awake and playing with Dada in the backyard.  

Happy hour snacks! 

Snacks led into dinner and, before we knew it, it was Qman’s bedtime. 

Mal and I stayed up late watching TV, which, hopefully, wasn’t a bad idea. Let’s hope Qman sleeps until his clock lights up!
